Wool

Wool is a natural animal fiber obtained primarily from sheep, although wool can also come from other animals such as goats and certain camelids. Sheep’s wool is the most widely used and comes from the animal’s fleece, which is sheared, cleaned, and spun into yarn.

Wool is naturally warm, breathable, insulating, and elastic. Its fibers can absorb moisture while still helping regulate body temperature, making wool comfortable in a wide range of conditions. It also has a natural ability to recover its shape, making it especially well suited to knitted garments.

Versatile and timeless, wool is perfect for sweaters, cardigans, hats, scarves, socks, blankets, and other cozy cold-weather projects. Different types of wool can range from rustic and durable to exceptionally soft and fine, depending on the breed of animal and the characteristics of its fibers.
